…as AMACOS debunks election disruption claims

The two presidential hopeful for the 2018/2019 Moshood Abiola Polytecnhic Students’ Union (MAPSU), Omoniyi Samson (Heritage) and Akinyemi Akinwale (Genesis) both of whom are from Mass Communication department, met on Friday to ensue peace.
This development, PCM gathered was to downplay the notion against the department as being responsible for the suspension of the election.
The meeting which was held at the Association of Mass communication Students (AMACOS) secretariat had in attendance Ademola Bello, a past executive of the department and some stakeholders of the department.
Bello who was the AMACOS president for 1998/99 academic session, preached peace urging aspirants to see the race as a contest on behalf of the department and not for personal selfish interest.
He advised that the forum from which they emerged should not make them give room for enmity.
The convener, Khaff Oshoala who is the incumbent AMACOS president said the meeting among other reasons is to ensure that the election holds and that a student from the department becomes MAPSU president
“The two presidential aspirant are from this department, we need to get our house in order so that this election will be profitable.
“This meeting we can say is a way I am doing what can be called a fatherly role.” He said.
The meeting according to Heritage has given the aspirants words of encouragement to fight on true course for the department.
Speaking on reports that he (Khaff) was one of those responsible for the suspension of the election, he retorted that he will never indulge in such acts.
“I can’t do that, I will always be for justice, unity and peace everywhere I am. It will be a great happiness for me if the election holds because it is coming to my department after five years.”
Sequel to the allegation, the AMACOS PRE, Ahmad Abiola in a statement described the allegation that mass communication students initiated the suspension as filthy adding that the claims as expressed were baseless.
