Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic have refused to resume school despite the announcement of 7th January as resumption date.
The school management had earlier announced a compulsory break for students from December 12 to January 7th.
As against the belief that the break was a strike action, the school PRO, Yemi Ajibola said the break was to ensure students enjoy the festivities.
Recall that exams earlier scheduled for 3rd of December was placed on hold for reasons undisclosed.
On visit to the school today, the resumption date, no activity was observed.
The school environment was scanty as administrative and lecturers’ offices were not opened early.
Some students who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that the resumption date is a scam claiming that the school in on strike but fails to admit it.
Some students have also concluded that the suspended examinations may not hold till the end of 2019 elections.
Students have now spent 19 weeks in school as against the 19 weeks maximum duration for a semester.
