Barring any last minute changes, the MAPOLY Students union led by Owoiya Rasaq will unveil the renovated bus shed named after the institution’s new rector, Dr. Samson Odedina.
The bus shed had been left in a ‘not too good’ shape since the Usaefat led 2015/16 caretaker committee did some rehabilitation.
The status of the bus shed is not unconnected with unstable student leadership in the institution.
Recently, Press Club MAPOLY (PCM) observed that renovation had been ongoing at the bus courtesy of MAPSU for about a week.
Pictures obtained by PCM shows that finishing touches are being done to ensure that the bus shed is ready before students resume to school on Monday.
The shed has been painted, students’ walkway had been neatened, potholes had been filled while a new sign post bearing the name of the rector has been fixed at the entry and exit point of the bus shed.
Odedina replaced Ago Tella who was the acting rector. He once served as the rector of ICT Polytechnic, Itori before becoming the provost of federal college of Agriculture, Akure until his immediate appointment.
Since his assumption in MAPOLY, Odedina had been instrumental in restoring normalcy to the institution which had resulted in resumption of academic activities and payment of staff’s belated salaries. He has also had father to children meeting with students of the institution on several occasions.
There were however no response as regards mofalties for unveiling the renovated bus shed as at the time of filing this report.
