Following the postponement of the Students’ Union election, all is now set for Mapaites to elect new leaders that will direct its affairs in the next academic session.

Recall that the SU election was earlier fixed for 6th, December, 2018 but was suspended due to the SULECO chairman’s absence that stalled the election.

The SU election will now be holding on 21st March, 2019.

PCM observed that since the new election date was fixed, many of the SU aspirants had gone back to their campaigns which was left unattended due to the three months old strike that rocked the institution.

Press Club Mapoly also gathered that their may be low turn out of students at the poll due to students preparation for exams as well as their loss of interest after its initial postponement.

However, according to a memo signed by the Students’ Union Electoral Committee, SULECO, chairman, Adeniji Olamilekan, the voting requirements for the SU election are; stamped and signed exam pass and confirmed school receipt.
