The Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Samson Odedina, has granted approval for the construction of a secretariat for the Junior Chambers International, Mapoly Chapter.

The rector, who lauded the club on their achievements which in turn had project the institution to be of great recognition, said the Polytechnic would give maximum support for their activities and other impending requests.

A joint representative of JCI national executives and Mapoly Chapter executives paid a visit to the Office of the Rector, where they expressed gratitude for management support to the club and pleaded for an approval for a space within the Polytechnic to construct their proposed secretariat.

Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global community of young active citizens of ages 18-40 with great leadership skills aimed at rendering sustainable community service to humanity.

JCI is a nonprofit organization with over 7million members across the globe that are positively uniting all sectors of the economy in achieving a global impact through rendering humanitarian services.

In his address, Odedina said, "I am very passionate about young ones. Over the years I have learnt that when we build you, we build ourselves. I have never for once seen my self, even in various positions I have occupied before now, as a Rector but rather a Father. Therefore, my success would be measured greatly in what I do. What I consider to be achievement is not in structure and buildings but building young one. And I strive to build many in this institution so that wherever they stand they could say, I am or was a student if Mapoly.

"I am very sure you are in the right institution of study. For people like me and others who have passed through are riding on the back of the great Mapoly and I am happy to be the Rector. Since I have been here, it has given me the opportunity to mentor 25,000 young one. Youth have the strength that we do not have; we can only coordinate you.

"As for everything you have asked for is approved. We’ll only need to meet to work out the modalities. We do not allow achievements to pass by without celebrating it. We will support you in your activities and whatsoever you’ll need as a club in the institution, please reach out to me and we will do. "

However, as an expression of gratitude, JCI presented a throw pillow designed with the picture of the Rector and an inscription:" a leader per excellence, a teacher with integrity, a father with a heart of gold, an icon of knowledge, we celebrate you"
