The President of the Association of Mass communication students (AMACOS), Kehinde Akinbode (Kennydeal) has revealed how students of the department boycots the payment of dues.
Akinbode made the revelation during a Press Conference organised by PRESS CLUB MAPOLY on the report of stewardship of the Mass communication executives.
Kennydeal claimed that some student do boycott the departmental dues which in an effective organization is not expected to be.
While asking if boycotting of due is as a result of inefficiency of the executive, the President said, "Everyone of us is a Nigerian, and we understand that there is usually nepotism in almost all sector. Students do go to boycott the payment of the due as a result of ‘someone they knew’ –people in power", he defended.
AMACOS President said further that the Association have put in place an E-payment platform to curb the act of boycotting the payment of dues.
Akinbode further said the introduction of E-payment is seen to have failed in curbing the boycott as the President said that some students still boycott by tendering "faded fake receipt". "
He added that this is possible as the Association has "no access to the account in order to confirm".
They are not paying to the department, they are paying to the bank, of course when they come, and present.
"It is only the slip that can tell if they have paid or not so if they come and we can not vividly see what is on the receipt then, we can not really determine whether they have paid or not.
"AMACOS does not receive alert, does mails because the account has been created even before our administration. Whenever you want to confirm anything you are free to go to the bank and confirm everything you want to confirm."
Other AMACOS executives present at the conference includes; the P. R. O, Asadeji Oluwatofunmi (Carmar), Vice President 1, Aderounmu Oluwaseun(La Boss) and Ifeoluwa Egunjobi, Chief of Staff.
