A student of Electrical Electronics Engineering department, Yusuf Mogaji has been elected as the new Students Representatives Speaker for Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.
Mogaji emerged the SRC speaker with a total of 10 votes from honourable representing departments who voted him while his opponent, Oduola Uthman had a total of 5 votes.
Kuye Nofisat emerged the deputy speaker-elect, Oyebola Olufemi as the clerk-elect, Adebowale Babatunde as the Chief Whip-elect and Ariyo Olamilekan as the majority leader-elect.
The outgoing Speaker, Oluwafemi Owoeye, urged the speaker-elect to be prepared for the great task ahead.
Owoeye also charged him to bring all his cabinet members on board while wishing him success.
“It’s going to be intense you’re going to experience things you’ve never experienced, you’ll meet people you’ve never met, but in all of this things there are two things I want you to remember.
“Stay through to your conscience, it’s very important, do not raise your finger to anybody. Bring everybody on board especially those that contested against you. The entire house, the floor members, bring everybody together I wish you success.”
Speaking with Press Club MAPOLY, the SRC speaker-elect, Yusuf Mogaji promises to ensure better welfarism for the students.
He also called for support from the students to make his vision a reality.
“I feel happy with the election that just happened, I want the student to expect more from me better welfarism and their support”.
The Directorate of Students affairs, Olusegun Anikan on behalf of the management , congratulated the newly elected Students’ Representatives wishing them success ahead.
