The Acting Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji has vowed that the Students Union Election will be conducted soonest.
Dr. Adeoye disclosed this in a meeting with the Speaker and Clerk of the Students Representative Council, Hon Mogaji Yusuf Olatunji and Hon Olufemi Oyebola on Wednesday.
He said that the management is not against the conduct of the Students Union Election, adding that they are working on how to get it done with transparency and fairness.
The Rector assured that the election date shall be announced soon.
Furthermore, he noted that the management is also committed to conducting a free, fair and credible election.
He also promised to hold a meeting with the Commissioner for Education, alongside the Directorate of Students’ Affair (DSA) in order to decide on the Students’ Union Election date.
Meanwhile, the Speaker urged students to cooperate with the management as the date of the election will be announced soon.
"It’s glaring that the system is not working, I hereby urge us to coooperate with the school management, whom I believe shall overcome all these challenges." he said
Other attendance at the meeting include the Director of students Affairs, (DSA) Dr. Olusegun Aninkan, the Deputy speaker, Kuye Nafisat and the Majority Leader Ariyo Fatai
