Following talks with the management, some concerned students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic have suspended their planned protest, charging all students to be peaceful.
They said that the government has assured that their demands would be met.
In a release signed by their Resolution Committee, the students said that they are convinced they have a responsible and responsive
government who would implement their demands.
The statement reads, “It would be recalled that the committee gave the management and Ogun State government 48 hour ultimatum which lapse today, after communicating our demands, assurance was given all demands have been put into consideration for implementation.
“Government has assured that the roads have been awarded and within the shortest time work would commence. The implementation tuition was adopted because this government is focused on bringing MAPOLY back on track as this has been evident in the money and steps taken to bring MAPOLY back.
“As a committee who is convinced that we have a responsible and responsive government, we urge every progressive students of the institution to be calm and be hopeful as the management and Ogun state govt set to implement our demands.”
Press Club MAPOLY had earlier reported the demands of the students as being the fixing of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Road to ease transportation, continual of 60/40 tuition fees payment, reduction of acceptance fee, quick release of examination results, no closure of payment portal and reduction of medical fees.
