The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ogun state has called on the Students Union aspirants to work as a team.
The chairman, Kehinde Damilola Simeon known as DAOSMOS advised the winners and losers of the election during his visit to MAPOLY where he monitored the election process.
He said that he will work with the winners to set educational programs that will equip the students.
According to him, “We are only here to solidarize. We have no interest in anybody that emerges. Let the best candidate emerge. Our own thing is to work with the person that emerges, coming on board with us to look into programmes that will enhance educational development and welfare of the students on this campus.
He said that all aspirants should use the spirit of sportsmanship to work with each other
“All aspirants should use the spirit of sportsmanship and not a do-or-die affair one, and whoever emerges should be supported and everybody should put their weight behind the winner because I believe that for every aspirant to come up for a post at least they would have one manifesto or the other. If you see that you didn’t emerge, there’s nothing bad in supporting and liaison with the winner so.you could work out enhancing educational development, looking into welfarism of the students as a whole and thereby, projecting your school in a positive way,” he said.
On his part, the National President of Progressive Students Movement, Ambassador Okereafor Bestman Opeyemi commended the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic for putting up this kind of election process, saying it’s of international standard and that they are pleased with it.
He said that the results of this election is a result of God’s will, adding that the winner should see this process as a brotherhood one and shy away from any inimical act that can put the name of the school in shame.
