The Amir of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter, Aminu Wasiu has urged the muslim faithfuls to pray frantically.
The Amir said this in the felicitation of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The Muslim Amir preached that the few days to the festival are holy, urging the faithfuls to be upright and pray for the progress of the Polytechnic, Ogun state and Nigeria as whole.
His words, “My message to our fellow muslim brothers and sisters is that they should try as much as possible to continue to exhibit the true values of Islam. To stay away from the prohibitions of Allah. To continue to do more of good deeds during this period and to as well pray for the progress of this our great institution,our dear state and for the betterment of Nigeria as a whole during this period.”
The Amir, reacting to the short holiday spare for the festival by the government, said, “First and foremost, the Eid-el-Kabir festival is an important one for all muslims which is celebrated globally.
“Meanwhile,the Federal Government declared Tuesday and Wednesday for the celebration which are not enough but there is nothing we can do about it.”
He added that some students will be traveling outside the state to celebrate, stressing that the two days holiday cannot be satisfactory as some may not be able to celebrate well with their family.
He further said the reason is understandable as the students need to resume in time to further their academics.
He, however, appealed to lecturers to suspend the proposed test days from Thursday and Friday till the students are fully back on campus and recovered from the the celebration.
