Well, so to say, I’ve never been to a media house as a media person except from the occasion when I was interviewed by a radio station in Ibadan (Space FM) as a promising and sensational music artist.
It’s such a great honor for me to be part of the PCM Media Tour 21′, and I really enjoyed my time, learning a lot practically in accordance to the theoretical part that I was taught “within the fence”(in class).
I have always loved to be a presenter but burying my writing skill is a bad idea for me, but thanks to PRESS CLUB MAPOLY, this platform revived the writing skill in me and gave me chances of “penning” down great words and have them published. The idea of a media tour by this platform was the greatest of all because I had never had chances of going to settings we did tour.
Opera News happens to be one of the news platforms I visit quite often, reading some of their stories. Upon reading, I always have questions which turn out to be “rhetorical” questions at that point in time because I never had anyone to provide answers to them until I had the privilege to visit Opera News hub situated in Allen, Ikeja, Lagos.
I learnt a lot in the course of the tour. I was exposed to how the organization (Opera News) operates and runs its platform. What’s more, I had the greatest chance to ask my long-standing questions and fortunately I got satisfactory answers to them all. I even learnt more about the platform.
The same narrative applies to “The Nation Newspaper." I was chanced to visit its “Mad House” (News Production Room). I’d always longed to see what a mad house looks like. Is it really a mad house or the name was just figurative? Thankfully, I finally got the reality.
With this experience, I was exposed to the operation of Opera News and The Nation Newspaper. They are two different organizations with the same goal of feeding the targeted audience with news stories but with different modes of operation
The entertaining part of the tour was a great experience that I could not have afforded to miss. The uniformity is another beautiful thing to talk about.
