Boluwatife Omidina
Former Press Club MAPOLY Editor, Fasilat Oluwuyi has been nominated for The African Fact-Checking Awards 2021.
Oluwuyi who was the editor of the club for the 2019/2020 academic season got nominated among five other nominees from other African countries such as Mauritius, Ghana and Ethiopia.
The fact-check report that got her the nomination was the report she made while on campus to falsify reports making rounds then that the school had an academic calendar out.
She fact-checked the calendar and found it to be false, titling her report: Fact-Check: Did MAPOLY release a new academic calendar?
The winner of the award will be announced on 12 October with $2,000 being the prize.
It will be recalled that erstwhile editor of the club, Kehinde Ogunyale was also nominated for the same award in 2020
