The Acting Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji has said that students will now be mandated to put on ID cards.
He said this on Monday amidst other issues.
This came after an editorial by Press Club MAPOLY titled: “Why are we so low on ID cards?”
The editorial analytically looked into the low rate of students usually seen wearing ID cards and those that do not.
It also revealed how the usage of ID cards can strengthen security on campus.
The Ag. Rector noted that Identity Cards will strengthen security as aliens will be known from the real students.
Dr. Odedeji further said the outgoing students will not have ID cards as their terms are already exhausted, adding that very soon others will have theirs.
His words: “We will know how to clear them (the outgoing students). Those that are here are the ones that we are going to give ID cards.”
The Ag. Rector, however, urged students to implore their colleagues to wear their ID cards for their own sake.
“We should counsel our colleagues on why they should use ID cards for our sake because when they do, we’ll be able to recognize one another and have no security breach.”
