SUELECO gets new Officials, set to adopt E-Voting for next SRC, SUG Election

The Students Union Electoral Commission (SUELECO) has orientated and inaugurated its newly elected SUELECO officials for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The inauguration session which took place at Jibodu hall had the presence of the Director of Students Affairs, Dr. Olusegun Aninkan, the School Councilor, Dr. Karounwi, the Students Advisory Officer, Mr. Segun Odeyemi among other dignitaries.

The School Councillor, Dr. Karounwi who welcomed everyone present at the event informed the new SUELECO officials of the tasks ahead of them which is to conduct the forthcoming SRC and SUG election through the E -voting system.

The Director of Students Affairs, Dr. Olusegun Aninkan, on his part, read out the functions of SUELECO from a section of the Students Union’s constitution.

Dr. Aninkan encouraged the newly elected SUELECO officials to be faithful and committed without prejudice to the task ahead of them in order to ensure a free, fair and credible election.

He further stated that all terms and conditions regarding the proposed new E-voting system should be duly examined holistically by the newly elected SUELECO officials.

He added that the voting platform shall be designed on the school portal soon and its test-running shall follow suit to have it ready for operation prior to the election.

Spearheading the nine-man electorial officials are Shobowale Oluwatobi, Chairman from the Department of Business Administration and Ajeigbe Fatai, Vice Chairman from the Department of Office Technology Management.
