Verification:
FALSE, MAPOLY has not released the application form for the HND 2022/2023 academic session.

On May 19, 2022 a post was circulated via WhatsApp (school) groups that the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has released the application form for the Higher National Diploma 2022/2023 academic sessions.
The screenshot was shared to a class group of the National Diploma II students who are currently on Industrial Training and looking ahead to obtaining the HND form upon the completion of their program.
The post was also found on two websites – ghanadmission.com and myyopschools.com – informing prospective applicants that the MAPOLY authority has commenced the sales of the HND form.
The information provided on one of the websites read:

MAPOLY HND ADMISSION GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
Applicant must:
1. Satisfy the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic entry Requirements for each relevant National Diploma Programme;
2. Pass at not below Lower Credit in the relevant National Diploma Programmes from accredited programmes/institutions and have completed a minimum of one calendar year post National Diploma relevant work experience (evidence of industrial work experience is required).
3. Candidates with a Pass at ND level plus two (2) years post qualification cognate experience could be considered for admission;
4. Request his/her former Institution to send transcripts of his/her academic record to the Registrar, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta;
Note: No candidate will be registered before receipt of the academic transcript.
5. Applicants who obtained their National Diploma (ND) from other Polytechnics with Pre- ND as their entry qualification shall not be admitted. Post-qualification School Certificate ordinary level results are not admissible.
6. Candidates with National Diploma in Banking & Finance and Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) Certificate are not qualified for admission into HND Accountancy Programme.
7. Candidates must pass the screening examination to be conducted by the Polytechnic.
8. Candidates wishing to specialize in either Biology/ Microbiology, Chemistry or Physics must have credit at O’Level in their areas of specialization.

Applicants should apply on the Polytechnic’s portal making use of their ATM card/Master or Visa Card and make payment of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) only, then proceed to www.mapoly.edu.ng to complete application forms online.”
The second website also published similar information with some modifications.
It reads in part:
“MAPOLY HND Admission General Entry Requirements

A student on IT looking to obtain the form said, “We are still on IT and every other school is involved…. How will you sell the form when the results are not out yet ….”
Most often when students are expecting an update from the school authority, scammers have been found wanting to use the moment to rip off innocent students.
One of such means of defrauding students is with the information .
VERIFICATION:
Press Club MAPOLY, in verifying the authenticity, observed that one of the websites has the name “Ghana admission” and all its links are invalid.
Further research revealed that one of the posts has the backdate of January 14, 2022.
The Press Club also found out that the lists of courses provided on the websites do not correlate with the one on the MAPOLY website.
When the school Public Relations Officer Yemi Ajibola was contacted to confirm the information, who was surprised by it, said it was false.
The PRO said: “It’s a lie. How can we place an advert for admission now when the JAMB has just been concluded? It’s fake and a scam.”
Conclusion:
The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta is yet to announce or release the application form for the Higher National Diploma for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The Press Club advised prospective applicants/students to disregard the false information.
