Assignment Emerges First Female AMACOS President

Alimat Akorede, popularly known as Assignment has been elected the first 38th female president of the Association of Mass Communication Students for the 2022/2023 academic session.

Assignment pulled 270 votes against her opponents, Taiwo Akorede known as FADA who pulled 234 votes, and Salman Quadri pulling 26votes to the post of the President.

The election process supervised by the Association of Mass Communication Electoral Commission,(AMEC) was held yesterday in the department, starting at 1pm and ending by 4 pm with all candidates and agents in attendance.

According to the AMEC chairman, Oluwadamilola Fabiyi, there were 593 accredited voters with 529 votes.

Others elected were: Samuel Olusanya,(Samuel ) Vice president 1; Oduntan Florence,(Iron body) Vice President 2; James Promise,(Shuga) General Secretary; Samuel Anuoluwa,(Haarnu) Assistant General Secretary.

Others include Lawal Gafar,(Salaf) as Financial Secretary; Mustapha Opeyemi,(poppilow) as Treasurer;Fakorede Kofoworola, (Babygirl) as Welfare Director;Azubikwe Emmanuel, (Mc Worldwide ) as Social Director, Bakare Oluwadamilola,(Dharmediva) as PRO 1;Ojekunle Emmanuel, (Ire) as PRO 2; Shola Blessing,(Hibeekay) as Librarian; Alimi Oluwatosin, (Alison) as Deputy Librarian and Ogundele Olawale,(Maxwell) as Sports Director.
