MAN ‘O’ WAR, MAPOLY has declared that officers of the paramilitary association do not harass or maltreat students of the institution.
The outfit told Press Club MAPOLY that it is only set out to ensure discipline among students of the institution.
One of the officers, Abiodun Joseph who spoke to our correspondent on Wednesday said, “we are only striving hard to shape, mould, inculcate the spirit of patriotism, national loyalty and self-reliance in the students.”
Joseph refuted the claim that men of the association maltreat students on campus.
He said, “we are disciplinarians if any student doesn’t violate the rules and regulations of the club, such student will not be approached.
“The club is not meant to oppress but to protect the students from oppressors and aggressors, we respect the dignity of individuals.
“Since the establishment of the club in MAPOLY 15 years ago, we have maintained our standards in telling the fresh students of their primary obligations on campus in order not be misled on campus.
“The club being a legal one has been producing responsible and responsive students. The club is seen as a medium for fighting against all forms of violence in the school.
“MAN O’WAR can also be seen as guide to those who are interested to be in force.”
He also noted that the outfit does not face any challenges now that the high rate of fraternity has reduced “drastically” in the school.
“We have managed to put the rate of violence under control.
“MAN O’ WAR is strictly based on discipline and and also respect individual dignity,” he added.
Yes I support this paramilitary officers speach, man o war is not harassing any citizen but rather protecting and fighting against violence against such as cultism in every Community and state. I’m also a member of the paramilitary organization.
