_The Head of Public Officer of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Mr. Yemi Ajibola has explained that all students across all departments of the institution are eligible to have the school Identity card as the management has made provision._
He made this known during a phone interview with one of our correspondents.
Ajibola disclosed that the school Identity card is eligible for all students in each of the department of the institution.
Press Club MAPOLY, observed that the students of Mass Communication that graduated in the past two to three years were not given school ID cards whereas few students in Part-Time in the last academic session (2021/2022) were given the Identity card.
We also observed that newly admitted students from this same department were in total darkness when they heard that there is another ID card apart from the departmental Identity Card that was just introduced to them.
Ajibola claimed that the school is on break and that he was not able to know and confirmed the total number of Part-time students that were given the school Identity card and if the full-time students are not given the ID card.
While filing this report, we spoke with the incumbent president of the Association of Mass Communication Students’, Akorede Alimot to know her view concerning the issue of school Identity card, she explained that lack of identification within and outside the school premises has made the department to provide Identity card for its students to reduce harassment from some of the police officers outside the school.
