INTERVIEW: We are releasing a press soon to lift the Students’ Union President’s suspension – SRC Speaker

On Tuesday, 25th April, The Student Union Speaker of the student representative council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, who is from the Department of Computer Science in an interview with Owonikoko Eniola revealed that the 48hrs suspension of the SUG president is due and we are working on the lift of the suspension.

Q. Can we meet you(Name, department, post, class)

I’m Rt. Hon Tiwaloye Attu. I’m an HND II student of Computer science. I’m the Student Union Speaker of the student representative council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic and the Honorable representing computer science constituency II.

Q. For how long have you been the speaker of the student representative council?

I emerged from the office, in Nov 2022, and that is about 4 months back.

Q. Has any related issue ever happened in the council?

Actually No

Q. Apart from the reasons stated in the released letter, is there any other ulterior motive behind the suspension of the student union president?

No, it is why we stated clearly in the press release the reason behind the suspension

Q. What are the 3C’s of Aluta and how had the president failed to use it?

The 3C’s of Aluta are:
Consultation; Consolidation;
Confrontation and According to the Constitution Article IV Section 1 subsection(g), the president is expected to consult the SRC before any action.

Q. For how long is the president going to be under suspension?

The 48hrs suspension is due already, we are releasing a press soon to lift the suspension and my clerk is working on it currently as I speak to you and it will be released soon.

Q. What are the constitutional duties expected from the student union president after the suspension has been lifted?

To tender an apology letter to the Students’ union representative and work duly according to the constitution.
