The department of Marketing and department of Food, Science and Technology (FST) shared spoils on March day 2 of the SUG Cup on Wednesday at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Sports complex.
The March ended in a 1-1 draw.
Amidst the competitive clash, the FST team encountered challenges as two of their players were shown red cards, compelling them to continue with just eight players on the field.
However, amidst this adversity, Oluwole Oluwatosin, a standout player from the Food, Science and Technology Department, astounded spectators by netting an unbelievable goal.
Taking a direct corner kick from the right-hand side of the field, Oluwatosin’s precise strike during the first half of the game showcased his exceptional skill and prowess.
On the other side, the Marketing Department’s football team demonstrated impressive discipline, managing to avoid any red cards throughout the entirety of the match.
As the game pressed on, the excitement didn’t wane. Adedeji Marvellous seized an opportunity and scored a remarkable goal with a free kick during the second half, further electrifying the atmosphere and adding to the suspense.
The match’s officials also deserve recognition for their seamless execution. The two linesmen and the referee admirably fulfilled their roles without encountering any issues, ensuring a fair and well-regulated game.
The SUG Cup encountered between the Marketing and Food, Science and Technology Departments left spectators on the edge of their seats.
