The Mass Communication football team emerged victorious over the Accountancy football team in the final match of the 2023 Students’ Union Cup held at Sports Center on Monday.
The match began at 2:30 pm and followed the third-place victory by the Architecture team.
The initial half of the game proved to be a grueling battle, the first half concluded at 3:09 pm, with neither team managing to find the back of the net after 30 minutes of intense play.
During the match, the Mass Communication team exhibited their prowess with twelve free kicks, ten throw-ins, five corner kicks, and two offside calls.
However, the turning point came in the second half when Daniel Fadipe, a standout player, delivered an incredible goal, securing the lead for the Mass Communication team.
An accountancy football team, despite their efforts, could only muster five free kicks, four corner kicks, eight throw-ins, and one yellow card during the match. They also found themselves offside once.
This thrilling encounter between Mass Communication and Accountancy will surely be remembered as a highlight of the Dapo Abiodun Student Union Cup, with Daniel Fadipe’s goal sealing the victory for Mass Communication in a hard-fought contest.
