The Director of Students’ Affairs Dr Kolawole Amos on Monday, said the Dapo Abiodun Student Union Cup was named after the governor to appreciate his exemplary support toward the institution.
The DSA made this statement in an exclusive Interview with PRESS CLUB MAPOLY on Monday at the institution’s sports center.
He added that the institution was almost going into extinction due to the former state Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun’s attitude toward the institution, but Abiodun restored normalcy to the institution and they wanted to recognize his efforts.
He said: “It was named after Gov Dapo Abiodun because we looked at his exemplary support for the institution. You would recall that this school was almost going into extinction, because of the attitude of Sen. Amosun, the former governor of Ogun State, but he (Gov. Dapo Abiodun) restored the school.
“This is one of the ways by which we could show recognition and that is why it is named after him.”
