HND II Mass communication full-time team on Tuesday defeated ND I Mass Communication Full-time team, 5-4 on penalties to emerge champions of the Pen Cup 2017 on Tuesday.
Both teams were unable to get a winner in 90 minutes, after both sides failed to convert begging chances.
The HND II team however came out victorious as their forward Lukman Olatunji converted the decisive kick after the ND I team had lost their third kick of the game.
Olatunji’s conversion sent their fans into wild jubilation, thereby crowning them champions of the tournament.
The game was preceded by a closing ceremony and a minute silence held in respect of a ND graduate of the department, Rukayat Ayoola who passed away on Monday.
