Amid an ongoing strike, the Student Union at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic commends the students for their patience and assures them that the union is working tirelessly to restore normalcy to the academic routine.
This information was gathered from a memo jointly issued and signed by the students’ union President, Babatunde Hezekiah, and Public Relations Officer, Bamidele William, on November 1st, 2023.
Recall that the institution’s workers embarked on an indefinite strike over unpaid three-month salaries. In addition, students of the school staged a protest over the recent hike in admission acceptance fees from N35,000 to N50,500.
In light of this, the student union expresses its hope to achieve normalcy in the academic routine of the institution.
“We hope that this month brings new opportunities for learning, growth, and positive experiences on our campus. We understand that the past weeks have been marked by uncertainty due to the ongoing academic disruption. We also recognize that the interruption of classes has caused concern and inconvenience for everyone in our dear institution, and we share the desire to return to a smooth academic routine.
“It is with this assurance that we would like to inform the students’ constituency that we are working tirelessly to bring normalcy back to campus life. Nevertheless, our utmost priority is to ensure that you continue your academic journey with minimal disruptions.
“We commend you for your patience and understanding during this period and encourage you to stay engaged, focused, and supportive. Together, as a strong and united Students’ Constituency, we can overcome challenges, continue to excel in our pursuit of knowledge, and return to the vibrant and enriching campus life that we all cherish,” the memo reads.
The union, however, pledged to provide the students with a positive response before the end of this week.
