The “Student Union president”, Hezekiah Babatunde has claimed that he remains the students’ union leader of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY.
This was in response to the Editorial Press Club MAPOLY, PCM published on Tuesday concerning the inability of the Students Union Government, SUG to transit power to a new administration.
Recall that on January 6, 2023, Babatunde, was announced as the SUG president for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Students have therefore demanded a new administration as Babatunde is still holding office after expiration of his tenure.
Responding to the Editorial, in a statement, “president” Babatunde stressed that he is still the union leader as no election has been held yet to elect a new president.
“Until the new leadership is formally instated, I retains(sic) my rightful position as the Student’s Union President,” he boasted.
He however stressed that electoral process to transit power to the next administration is ongoing.
He said, “it is imperative to emphasize that the electoral processes and handling over protocols are actively ongoing.”
He therefore added that all further inquiries students might have should be directed to “the Student’s Union Office.”
