Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has approved November 28, 2016 the resumption date for first semester, 2016/17 academic session.
The management said the first semester resumption date is for all categories of students excluding the National Diploma II students on Students’ Work Industrial Scheme (SIWES).
PRESS CLUB (www.facebook.com/mapolypress) also understands that pre-registration including payment of acceptance payment and clearance for newly admitted students into the polytechnic had begun on Monday, October 17th.
The management also stated that the Matriculation and Oath Taking Ceremony for the newly admitted students will hold on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Orientation exercise which will precede the Matriculation ceremony for the new students will hold between Monday, December 19 and Thursday, December 22, 2017.
These were contained in a memo sent from the Academic Affairs Division I of the polytechnic to the Rector and dated Monday, October 24, 2016.
The internal memo with reference number “MAP/ACAD I/ABM 03/ 033” stated that the deadline for the registration for all students is Friday, February 10, 2017. While late registration is slated for Monday, February, 13 to Saturday, February 18, 2017.
The memo reads in part, “sir, the Academic Board at its meeting held on Thursday, 20th October, 2016 considered a proposal from the Directorate of Academic Planning on 2016/17 first semester academic calendar. After deliberations, the Board approved the calendar…”
Lectures would commence on Monday, December 12, 2016 for ND I, HND I and HND II students while lectures for ND II students on SIWES would commence on Monday, January 16, 2017. They are to resume the same day.
According to the memo, PRESS CLUB (www.facebook.com/mapolypress) understands that the first phase of examination for full-time and part-time HND I and HND II students for the first semester will hold between Monday, March 20 and Saturday, April 1, 2017.
While the second phase for full-time and part-time ND I and ND II students will hold between Monday, April 17 and Saturday, May 6, 2017. Academic activities for the first semester would end the same day.
