We Will Meet ASUP Conditions, Mg’t Assures Students, Says School Resumes Soon

The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY has assured students that it will meet the conditions set by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, raising hopes for an end to the ongoing strike and the resumption of academic activities.

This assurance was made by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, in an interview with Press Club MAPOLY, PCM on Monday.

Recall that a sudden industrial strike began in the school about two weeks ago, which resulted to the immediate seizure of lectures across all the institution’s departments.

PCM earlier reported that the ASUP embarked on the strike not because of unpaid salaries but to facilitate the implementation of the union’s members ‘ fundamental rights.

The report added that many staff members have been stagnant in the same position for years, without getting promotions

However, responding to these requests, Ajibola stated that the management will meet with ASUP this week and will meet all its demands.

He said, “the conditions will be met, efforts are in top gear, we will meet the conditions put up by ASUP.”

He therefore assured students that they will be back to school soon after meeting with the union.
