Why does gender bias persist, especially against the girl child?
Gender—a natural dance of love, desire, and procreation,
Two distinct halves woven by the divine hand.
In Yoruba wisdom, they say, “Gbogbo lomo”—all children matter.
Why blame mothers for what both parents create?
Were they the ones who conceived themselves?
I ponder my existence.
When nurturing falls largely on women’s shoulders,
Education and living spaces should know no partiality.
My apologies to men who defy stereotypes.
Some men confine women to kitchens and house chores.
Yet history boasts influential women:
Chimamanda Adichie, Yemisi Edun, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Angela Merkel…
Sculpt them with admiration, not disdain.
Learn to appreciate, not discriminate.
Every man, every woman—a human soul.
Neither superior nor inferior, but equally bright.
Gender equality—a universal battle, not just hers.
Let’s erase labels like “feminism” or “machoism”—
Embrace “equalism” instead!
Join the chorus, vote for parity,
And watch equality bloom across our world.
