An Ode to the Sun by Taiwo Adeyemo

The beauty of nature overwhelms me
As I bask in the sun’s radiant glow.
The green leaves laugh with joy, so free,
A beautiful sight, for all to know.

In the living room of Earth, our home,
Your reflection shines, a beacon bright.
Grant us joy and hope, and let us roam,
Basking in your warmth, our hearts’ delight.

Though distant, your smile reaches far,
Warming our skin, without a single scar.
Your influence on growth, a wondrous might,
Binding ecosystems, a true delight.

Oh, dear sun, shine bright, on time, each day,
Spreading joy, in every possible way.
Night will fall, but your joy will remain,
A lasting memory, a heart that’s gained.

Rest and sort the days, you’ve started with cheer,
And bring joy to the land, year after year.
