Unemployment: DEYEOD empowers 60 MAPOLY students, others

In a bid to reduce the unemployment syndrome facing Nigerian youths and graduates, Diligent Entrepreneurship Youth Empowerment Organization development (DEYEOD) yesterday, empowered 60 students of Moshood Abiola

Polytechnic to be self-employed.

The vocational training program focused mainly on how students would be self-employed with entrepreneurial skills they have acquired and Ways for them to also be a job makers and not job seekers.

While speaking with PRESS CLUB MAPOLY, One of the participants known as Odugbesan Oluwasegun, appreciated the organizers for helping students to be self-employed with their vocational training for students.

Oluwasegun Said "I enrolled for this program because I want to be my own boss and I have achieved that, because now am certified in 16 vocational training skills.

Also, an HND 1 Mass Communication participant, simply identify as Halima also praised DEYEOD for empowering them and urged other students not to only depend on their paper qualifications, adding that they should also learn vocational skills to earn a living too as she did.

However, the founder of Diligent Entrepreneurship Youth Empowerment Organization development (DEYEOD), Mr. Adefisoye Adesola, fondly called Mr. Diligent, stated that the mission of DEYEOD is to make his trainees to be among the 5% of Job makers and control the 95% job seekers out there.

While Issuing certificate of proficiency on vocational skills to participants, He Implored them to take action on what they have learnt as skills and to practices them as an entrepreneurs.

According to him, looking at Nigeria economy situation presently, the best way for students is to be self-employed and that can be achieved through entrepreneurship skills.

Adesola however, called on Government, Private entities, Financial Institutions to partners with Small Medium Enterprise (SME) in starting up their capital.
