
Isaac Ogunlana, popularly known as IceconRay has officially taken the oath of office alongside his executive members, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Student Union Government (SUG) at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic , Abeokuta (MAPOLY).
The inauguration, which took place on Tuesday at Jibodu Hall, MAPOLY, was attended by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Mr. Aninkan David, the Sub-dean, Arc Dr. Solanke, The school spokesman, Mr. Yemi Ajibola, Barr. Olayinka Abdurazak, Students Affairs Officer, Alh. Idris Akinbode among others.
The event kick-started with an opening remark from the DSA, who emphasized on how the election went smoothly.
He appreciated the school rector, Arc. Dr. Jolaoso Babatunde ‘Koye, and at the same time thanking the Students Union Electoral Committee SUELECO chaired by Adeleke Nasiru for ensuring the election went free and fair.
He also appreciated the effort of the Chemical led administration for making the election successful.
Therefore, he advised the students to support IceconRay. “We’re rebranding MAPOLY and also training you to be future leaders,” he said.
The newly Inaugurated executives were sworn in by Barr. Olayinka Abdurazak, who emphasized the importance of leadership.

IceconRay, the 40th SUG President during his speech said “all students will be treated accordingly. Election has come and gone. This administration promise to serve the students of the institution. We will not fail you.”
He also promised to address the pressing challenges of the students.
The outgoing president, Oladele Prosper in his words said, “it has been a very tough and sweet journey. We came in later not up to six months but it was the best six months of our lives.”
He highlighted some of the achievements of his administration which are “liaising with authorities to bring in medical facilities to improve the healthcare of the institution which we will start seeing. We agitated for prompt release of result which is now happening with the help of the new Rector. We ensured students residing at Olohunsogo have shuttles that can transit them to school and lastly, our agitations for convocation have been heard too.”
The National Association of Nigeria Students NANS, Ogun JCC President was in attendance in person of Comr. Francis Abiola (Solution) and his executive team.
In his closing remarks, the DSA encouraged the students of the institution to apply for the NELFUND loan most especially the HND1 and ND1. “A committee for NELFUND has been set up and chaired by me,” he said.
The academic calendar has been reviewed as students are advised to attend classes regularly.
