In the late hours of the election process which has been going smoothly, members of the students representative council arrived at the location of the Association of Mass Communication Students election control room with the claim that they received series of complaints about the election, calling for the annulment of the election.
The honourable speaker representing the department at the Students’ Representative Council, SRC, Rt. Hon Adegoke Shukroh, known as Anike came with a video evidence that showed the image and name of one of the Presidential candidate, Adedayo Abayomi (Hardex), appearing twice where the other presidential candidate, Balogun Jesuferami Morenikeji, was supposed to appear.
However, the evidence was countered by the AMACOS Electoral Committee, AMEC, officials on a basis that they couldn’t provide the students who made that complaint.
It was also observed that the claim was not as it was said as both candidates were showing on the screen in the control room.
After much back and forth between the AMEC staff adviser and members of staff present at the control room location, the issue was subdued with the intervention of the school security officials.
