The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, MAPOLY has postponed the commencement of the second semester exams by a week. The exams, originally scheduled for Monday, September 22nd, which will now commence on Monday, September 29th, 2025.
The decision was announced by the school’s Head of Public Relations Unit, Yemi Ajibola, coming after numerous appeals from various student leaders and staff members of the institution.
The extension is seen as a kind gesture from the school the management to ensure that all students have enough time to register and prepare well to guarantee a smooth and stress-free examination period for all students.
The extra week will therefore give students the opportunity to have enough to prepare well. However, the statement cleared that this is the final extension.
Students are therefore urged to use this time wisely and judiciously, as there will be no further extension.
Reacting to the extension, Oloyede Al-Ameen a National Diploma students from Science and Laboratory department said, “I’m very excited because most students haven’t paid the 40% tuition fee and they said the exam is starting next week. Let’s assume exams start on the 22nd September, 2025 some students will likely drop out and most finalists will have an extra year but this given one extra week will enable them to pay the fee and also, students with issue of exam pass too will have the opportunity to do so ever they have to do before the deadline.
In this vein, Olaitan Boluwatife, a Higher National Diploma 2 student from Mass Communication department added that “Honestly, I feel really relieved and grateful. I’ve been having restless nights, worrying about the exams and how unprepared I felt. But now that we’ve been given a one-week extension, I feel more at peace. It gives me a better chance to organize myself, study well, and approach the exams with confidence. I’m determined to make good use of the extra time.”
Also, Nofisat Omolade Mass Communication ND1 student said “I was relieved when I received the news that the management has postponed the exam, as it gives me additional time to prepare and ensure my mental well-being. This brief extension will enable me to approach the exam with greater confidence and composure.”
Students from various departments have took to their Whatsapp groups, statuses to share their excitement, praising the institution.
