The Student Union Government (SUG) of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, on Wednesday, at Jibodu Hall, MAPOLY held its official handover ceremony.

The event marked a smooth and peaceful transition of power to the newly elected executives led by Afolabi Temitope Ayodele, popularly known as Big Afo, who now serves as the 41st SUG President of the institution.

The modest but significant ceremony was attended by students, past SUG officials, and staff advisers, all gathered to witness the formal transfer of leadership responsibilities to the new administration.

In his speech, President Afolabi Temitope Ayodele expressed profound gratitude to the student body for the trust placed in him, pledging to uphold the values of transparency, service, and student-centered leadership. Big AFO restated his commitment to improving every MAPOLY student welfare, strengthening communication with the school management, and fostering unity across the polytechnic community.“This administration represents a new chapter for MAPOLY students — one built on inclusiveness, accountability and progress. We are here to serve every MAPOLY student and to ensure that their voices are heard,” he said.Staff advisers and outgoing executives who spoke at the event commended the peaceful transition process and charged the new leaders to build on the achievements of their predecessors. They emphasized the importance of teamwork, discipline, and commitment to student welfare.

The handover was therefore concluded with the official presentation of documents and instruments of office to the new executives, symbolizing the continuity of leadership and the beginning of a new era in student governance at MAPOLY.
