The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has expressed concern over the persistent shortage of buses at Panseke and Oluwo, noting that the situation has continued to disrupt students’ ability to attend 8am lectures.
The Union, through the Office of the Welfare Director, acknowledged that inadequate bus availability during early morning hours has caused delays for many students, often resulting in lateness to scheduled lectures.
Furthermore, this development is described as frustrating and detrimental to students’ academic activities.
According to the Students’ Union, it is currently engaging relevant authorities and transport operators to address the shortage of buses, particularly during peak morning periods when demand is highest.
Also the Union said, is aimed at improving bus availability, reducing congestion at bus stops, and ensuring students can arrive on campus in good time for their lectures.
While efforts to resolve the challenge are ongoing, the Union advised students to remain calm and observe proper queuing while boarding buses at Panseke and Oluwo. It emphasized that orderly conduct will help prevent avoidable accidents, protect lives, and ensure fair access to available buses.
The Students’ Union further appealed to students for patience, cooperation, and mutual respect, stressing that collective responsibility is essential to achieving a safer and more efficient transportation system.
The Union assured students that their welfare remains a top priority and pledged to continue pursuing lasting solutions to the transportation challenges affecting early morning academic activities.
