The students of Moshood Abiola polytechnic have commended the executives of Association of Mass Communication Students, AMACOS, for organizing a public speaking to showcase the hidden talents in the institution.
Some of the students who spoke with Press Club MAPOLY praised the Khaf-led Administration for creating a platform for them to show their worth and promote the department as pace setter on campus.
They described the event as a talent hunt for students, adding that it is one of its kinds in the institution.
The students also said the competition gave room to all level of students in the department to participate be it Full-time or Part-time students.
One of the participants, Omowunmi Nofisat said, "About 30 of us obtained the form and we were later screened to 16, and the 16 of us were opportune to partake in the public speaking competition".
Ogundimu Aishat an ND2 student also said, "Am happy to be in this department, although I didn’t partake in the competition but am proud of my course mates who won, am very sure with this little opportunity given to us lecturers should be convinced that evening students have come to stay in MAPOLY".
In the same vein, the Student Union Executives applauded the Khaf-led administration for giving students the opportunity of showcasing their talents.
In a release made available to Press Club MAPOLY by the Students’ Union said the AMACOS executives are considered a good example for other departmental president.
Part of the statement read, “The Student’s Union Government of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic under the leadership of comrade Owoiya AbdulRasaq has commended the effort of Association of Mass communicators, led by comrade Khaf for giving students the opportunity of showcasing their talents.
“Mass communication departmental President alongside his executives is considered a good example for other departmental presidents on campus.
“However, the Students’ Union executives of 2017/2018 academic session congratulates the participants of the just concluded public speaking programme for your success, indeed you gave us the hope of a better tomorrow.
“We appreciate the efforts of this administration, led by comrade Khaf for reviving our lost hope among students. The Students’ Union Government is really proud of you and your executives”.
