The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Chapter has called on muslim students to maintain their holy ways and submission to Allah even after the month of Ramadan.
The call was made by the Amir, Mallam Mos’ud Tohir while speaking with Press Club on Wednesday at the just concluded 10 days Itikaf at the school mosque.
Tohir urged students who participated in the fasting exercise of Ramadan not to see the end of Ramadan as an opportunity to go back to their sinful ways and abandon their good deeds carried out during the holy month.
The number one Muslim student expressed pessimism that Muslims may abandon all the good deeds they observed during Ramadan after Eid-fitri.
He said, "After 30 days of total submission to Allah, Muslims may start their impurity as soon as we break the fast.
“Muslims who have abandoned adultery; drinking of Alcohol and the likes during the holy month may go back to these acts. Ramadan is not the only month of Ibadah but other months are also holy months.”
Tohir said further that we should sustain the spirit of Ramadan and continue the deeds of Islam after Ramadan.
"My advice is that we should sustain the spirit of Ramadan and Muslim shouldn’t relent and go back to there way of neglecting Islam"
He also added that we should make use of the teachings and lessons we gained during the holy month.
"We have learnt so much during this month and I implore Muslim students on and off campus to imbibe with the teachings gained so it can has positive impacts in our lives".
He also commended the efforts of the Ramadan committee on the task they carried out during Ramadan.
