Following the unavailability of job in the society, the Junior Chamber International (JCIN) Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has setup a programme to empower the students of the institution through five days’ work shop seminar tagged ABS Workshop seminar.
The seminar which started on Monday September 24 at the Moshood Abiola polytechnic entrepreneurship Development center (MAPCED) have over 300 participants for seven course that include Graphics design, CCTV installation, Cake baking, Photography and the likes.
The sponsor of the program Mr Adekunle Babatunde Samson (A.B.S) claimed that graduates suffered after school looking for white collar job.
He said “I want students to stand on their own instead of looking for job, I will support the best student in each course financially to start their own business.
“I always have it at the back of my mind that whenever I finish from school as a graduate, I will not be seeking for white collar job that I will stand on my own , I tapped into things around me I became an entrepreneur, I studied accountancy but am into constructing, I have a construction company.
“I have to give back to the MAPOLY because I finished from the school.”
Speaking also at the programme, the President of JCIN MAPOLY local organizing branch, Olabisi Olajumoke said that entrepreneurship will not allow graduates to depend on government before a living.
She said, “being your boss is the best that why JCIN MAPOLY organize this beautiful program, we have been running this program for years this is 2018 edition,”.
