Taiwo Adeyemo
I am as pure as water, as clear as mirror
A shining light that burns away the shadows
I look back to see the light on the path of care
But the hearts of those who dwell in shadows care only for themselves
The innocent are trapped in the den of predators
The leopard lies in wait, its gentle exterior deceiving
The ant struggles under the weight of lies
A burden that threatens to consume it whole
Yet, I share the heart of the white snow
A heart that beats with a dangerous love, like Adam’s
We see and conquer the love of time
But ultimately, we fade away, ahead of our time
I see and feel the words that flow like a stream
Light shining through the frame of love
I hope to reach the great heights of words
Even in the midst of hate and despair
I wish for all the desires I have built
But my ugly face hides a golden heart
A heart that has been bought by the care of the lost
In the land I once called home.
