Building Tech. lacks lecture rooms, publicity – HOD, association president

National Association of Building Students (NAOBS) Moshood Abiola Polytechnic has lamented that the primary challenge of the department is lack of permanent lecture rooms, publicity and funds.

This was made known by the Head of the department, Builder Olasunkanmi Faniyi‎ and the President of the student association in the department, Comrade Abiola Ojo in separate  interview sessions with Press Club MAPOLY.

‎Faniyi stated the challenges of department include lack of permanent lecture rooms and finance.

He also highlighted the achievements of his tenure as head of the department to include bringing the department workshop to order, commencement of construction garden.

While explaining his concept in constructions, Faniyi said, “my plan is to  expose students  to practical aspects of constructions through the construction garden and field trips,”

However, the  department which has been in existence since 1996 got its HND programme accredited four years ago.

According to the President of the department, Ojo, “the major challenge we have is allocation of classrooms and publicity. Building Technology is not popular in MAPOLY and it is one of the things we are hoping to fix soon.”

President described the department as a hub for development adding that department constitute one of the pride of the institution.

‎While commending the lecturers of the department, Ojo said ” our  lecturers are registered builders who has aided students performance and encouragement” but however hoped that the department is given required publicity.
