Students of the department of Computer Engineering all left the computers in the ICT room to slug it out for the coveted HOD Cup at the Kunle Sorinola Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The opening match saw the HND2 team edge out their ND1 counterparts 5-4 on penalties after playing out a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
The spectacular moment of the game came in the 88th minute when the ND1 team pull up a stunning leveller to send the game into penalties through their striker Ibrahim Adeleke, who scored a scissors-kick goal in the box of his opponent.
The second match saw a complete massacre of the HND1 by the ND2, who had Kenny Ifehinola scoring an hat-trick and his teammate Olopade Adeola grabbing a brace on the day.
The match ended 5-2 in favour of the ND2.
The final is expected to take place on Friday at the Kunle Sorinola Sports Complex.
