The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic as parts of it’s efforts to support the Ogun State Government media campaign against the spread of the Coronavirus in the country has launched a sensitization campaign for students of tertiary institutions.
Head Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic, Mr Yemi Ajibola disclosed this in a statement made available to PressClub Mapoly(PCM) on Saturday.
Ajibola noted that the gesture was part of the management effort under the leadership of the Acting Rector,Dr. Adeoye Odedeji to reach out to all the students of the Polytechnic across the country to stay safe amidst the pandemic.
He said the campaign aimed at sensitizing students of tertiary institutions to stay safe by practicing social distancing, staying away from drug abuse as well as other virus.
According to the statement,the campaign was also to further sensitize the students to take advantage of the lockdown by studying and learning new skills online.
The Audio and audio -Visual media campaign featured MAPOLY Students Representatives Speaker, Femi Owoeye urging students to stay safe and follow preventive measures to combat the spread of the virus.
The statement reads:
“The Management of the Polytechnic under the leadership of the Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji thought it prudent to reach out to its teeming students populace scattered across the country.
“Preaching the four legged message of: staying safe at home; observing social distance protocols/hygiene rules; staying off drug abuse and other social vices and more importantly, taking advantage of the current lock down to read widely, study and learn new life skills online.
“Nigerian students are the future leaders of this great country. We, therefore, cannot but single them out for a dedicated awareness and sensitization on the COVID-19 pandemic at this crucial time”
