Etiquette can be described as the rules governing socially acceptable behaviours in the society, among friends, family members, groups or organizations.
Speaking of etiquette of picking calls, it means the politeness and acceptable manners of picking calls.
Etiquette of picking calls is very important to human nature and must be given proper cognizance and attention it deserves . But sadly today,people take those etiquette with levity and see them as uneccesary and unimportant, after all, is it not call?
Here are some useful etiquettes of picking calls that needs to be imbibe by people in today’s society.
*Know that every call is important. Endeavor to always pick all calls even if it is an unknown number. Pick calls at all time irrespective of the distance of the caller. The essence of that is because of cases of emergency, and more importantly, to save life.
*Do not put your phone on silence. You should only do that only when the need is unavoidable. This is very common among people in the society. You see them put their phones on silence even when they are not busy. Instead of putting it on silence when you are in an important meeting or attending to something urgent, while not put it on vibration in case of an emergency?
*Do not call people more than twice when they are not picking your calls except on emergency situations. Calling people more than two times could be annoying and disturbing. Instead of doing that, while not send a text message or leave a voice note to the person. It could be that such person is not picking because he or she might not be in a position to pick your calls or probably the person isn’t with his or her phone.
*Do not call or text anyone before 8am except there is a need to do that.
*Do not call or text after 9pm unless it’s an emergency. It is simply inappropriate to text or call someone late in the night because the person might be busy or sleeping at the time.
Calls are not inconsequent, as such, should be treated with priority and a high level of importance.
