CLAIM: An oath form for full-time fresh students was circulated via WhatsApp asking fresh students to swear that they will not participate in any Students’ Union activities.

VERIFICATION
On September 22nd, an oath form was circulated via Whatsapp with a portion of it stating fresh students are not allowed to partake in the activities of the Students Union.
It was shared on Whatsapp platforms which left students to wonder if it’s true.
The portion of the oath form reads:
“I swear and declare/ affirm: “I know that I am not entitled to be a member of the Students Union of the Polytechnic and I undertake not to join or participate in the election of the Students Union.”
FACT CHECK
The first check by Press Club Mapoly shows that the calendar is totally different from the one printed online by full-time fresh Students.
The oath to be sworn by the student in the fabricated oath form was divided into two sections while the official oath form for the school is only in a section numbered one to six.
Also, the oath form says the full-time fresh Students are not allowed to participate in the election process which has not been stated by the management.
When PCM contacted the management, it was revealed that the oath form is fabricated and not from the school.
Below is the official oath form of the school.

CONCLUSION: The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic did not ask fresh Students not participate in the Students’ Union activities.
Press Club Mapoly urged students to disregard any fake oath form being circulated online.
