IN SHORT: Ogun State Government, under the aegis of Prince Dapo Abiodun, recently approved the immediate disbursement of a special grant, tagged: “Ogun State Educational Cash Award for Student Help (OgunEduCASH)” to Ogun State Indigent Students of the Polytechnic, who are studying on Full-time basis only.
This was made known by the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY Abeokuta Ogun State.
According to the management, students can only access this opportunity through their school portal.
It stressed that “students, who have completed their registrations, should check their profiles and proceed to the Bursary access link via my.mapoly.edu.ng.”
However, a few hours after the publication, a website with the domain ‘get yours now. online’ surfaced, circulating all social media, especially WhatsApp.
A write-up accompanying the website read “*OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT ₦10,000 RELIEF FUND IS ONGOING*
“Due to high level of Inflation and Economic Hardship, high cost of feeding, *GOV. Dapo Abiodun* has urged that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation should open the financial relief support funds to corp distress in the state. Every citizen is entitled to receive the sum of ₦10,000 for 3 Months.

The publication was sent to WhatsApp groups where students are filled in. But is this website real? Press Club MAPOLY, PCM checked.
VERIFICATION
Background check, with ScamAdviser, on this website, showed that ‘get yours now. online’ has a very low trust score which indicates that there is a strong likelihood the website is a scam.
Using the Whois tool, to find the authenticity of the domain, the website could not be traced to an owner as it was registered with a fake name, address, and email.
VERDICT:
Misleading! The website is fake and might be harmful to you as a user as it promotes misleading content.
