An HND 1 student of Mass Communication, Adekunle Sanusi
has emerged the winner of the third edition of AMACOS public speaking competition tagged "Pen It, Say It".
The competition which was held on Thursday at Mass Communication main hall had various dignitaries, past presidents of the association and students in attendance.
After competing in the competition, three students emerged as winners.
Adekunle Sanusi, HND1 emerged the overall winner of the competition. Also, another HND1 student, Sulaimon Okikola won the second position while Suliyat Mogaji who is an ND1 student emerged the third position.
Sanusi who emerged the overall winner of the competition for the first position was given a cash gift of N50,000 with a plot of land, Okikiola who won the second position was given a cash prize of N20,000 and a half plot of land by Splash estate.
The third position was also given half plot of land by splash estate.
However, mixed feelings was observed by some of the students as they reacted.
While some claim it wasn’t fair enough others think otherwise.
Ashaolu an ND I student of Mass communication said "We all watch it from the start Mogaji does not deserve the 3rd position, Barakat delivered well than her".
Also an HND 1 student said "Emmanuel Alabi should be among the winners either 1st,2nd or 3rd.she further said mogaji does not deserve the 3rd position.
Olawale another HND 1 student said" To me Suliyat Mogaji didn’t communicate but I can pick little things from what Emmanuel said, it’s only the 2nd position that is just".
Speaking with PCM, AMACOS Chief of Staff, Ifeoluwa Egunjobi said" I think Emmanuel or babakay will emerge as the winner am not among the judge’s but I think why Alabi Emmanuel was not chosen was because he use some negative words and he deliver the last speech of a lecturer in a thug way".
He however, commended Emmanuel, one of the competitors who is an ND1 student for making it to the final stage.
"Am really impressed about Emmanuel because for him who is an ND I student to make it to final stage it’s shows he is brilliant".
