Ijebu students celebrate Garri day, call for unity

Ijebu Students Association, MAPOLY Chapter, today hosted a program to establish a sense of oneness among the Ijebu Students of MAPOLY.

The orientation program was held at the Electrical Engineering department.

According to Olayemi Afolayan, the spokesperson of the association, the program was to sensitize the students about the essence of the association and the lined-up programmes of the association at large.

He explained that the aim of the association is to assemble Ijebu Students to get their rights in terms of bursary payment from the state government.

“Also, we have the opportunity to connect and network ourselves with other students from this region,” he said.

Afolayan furthered discussion on the opportunities involved in joining the association.

He said, “We normally go to different occasions as one big family for special recognition and we have the chance of meeting top government officials and dignitaries who are indigenes of Ijebu.
