Excerpts:

Q. How long have you been selling your yogurt on campus?

I have been selling yogurt on campus since the year 2002, which is about 20 years now.

Q.What made you so popular as a yogurt seller?

What has made me popular is that I am jovial with everyone when selling my market. I play with everyone both young and old.

Q.How did you start your yogurt business?

When I came to campus, I saw that students will need cold yogurts whenever they are tired, so I began the sales of yogurt.

Q. Why don’t you try another business on campus apart from yogurt?

There is no capacity and money to try other businesses but I know if I start another business the students will buy from me.

Q.What are the challenges you have faced from students?

I have faced a lot of challenges, some of which are; students who I am far older than, will insult me but I will accept it as a play because I want to sell my market. Sometimes, students will argue about money with me but glory is to God.

Q.What is your biggest lesson so far as an entrepreneur in a school market?

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that whatever goods you are selling to students, be friendly with them and joke with them because it makes you sell your goods. Even some of my trader colleagues on campus do think I am using one charm or the other to sell my goods but what they don’t know is that if you are not friendly with students you won’t sell well.

Q.How would you describe your experience so far selling in MAPOLY?

My selling experience so far on campus has been so great. I thank God.

Q.What will be your advice to students who are looking to get into entrepreneurship?

My advice to the students is that anything they intend to sell to their fellow students, they should sell it in a jovial way.

Q.What will be your advice to those entrepreneurs looking to do business in MAPOLY?

My advice to my fellow entrepreneurs is to be friendly with students. Most of them do beef which is why is it only FM that the students like, but what they don’t know is that being jovial with the students matters a lot. Moreover, students already know that no matter the insults they give to me I will turn them into a joke. so I urge them to be jovial and friendly to students.
