The Junior Chamber International, Nigeria (JCIN), Heritage Chapter MAPOLY has trained fifty students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
The training, which took place at the institution’s Jibodu Hall on Wednesday, equipped students with fire safety skills.
In attendance were HFS Ajayi Olayinka, HFS Ojugbele Kehinde, Aderenle Micheal, president of Press Club MAPOLY and other dignitaries.
The president of the association, JCIN Counsellor Adekunle Daniel, emphasized in his speech that the well-being of every individual in our nation is a shared responsibility.
Committed to ensuring that communities remain safe, informed, and prepared for any challenges that may arise, Daniel urged students to be vigilant.
He said, “Safety is not just the absence of danger; it is a proactive effort to prevent harm, protect lives, and create an environment where every person can thrive. From road safety to workplace protocols, and from disaster preparedness to cybersecurity, the awareness and practice of safety in all its forms are critical elements in building a secure future for our nation.
“I would like to recognize the Ogun State Fire Service (OSFS) for their unwavering commitment to developing leaders who take action for positive change. JCI has been instrumental in promoting safety and fostering community-based initiatives that empower individuals to be more conscious and responsible citizens.
“As we continue to work together, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a culture of safety, where every citizen is equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to protect themselves and others.”
The chairperson of the project, Ogunyemi Azizat in her welcome address, expressed appreciation to all participants and stated her belief that they would gain valuable knowledge from the training.
She revealed that the program has a second segment focused on CPR.
“Thank you all for coming. You will surely learn something valuable from this program, and I look forward to seeing you in the second segment.”
